Can this be good?

My therapist tells me that I “have certain redeeming qualities” and that I “have much to offer in a relationship.” This can’t be good, can it?

But it could be true. And it’s arguably better than no redeeming qualities and nothing to offer…

At least you have insight into when your therapist is potentially spouting cliches. You have to pin them down at that stage - grill them to make sure they weren’t just thinking about their next coffee-break. Like “What qualities?”

And at least you have a therapist . In the UK system, it’s anywhere between 2 months to one year wait for an NHS therapist - probably to make sure you’re either better/have fully responded to medication/dead before they have to see you. And then after all that waiting, you only get 6-8 sessions. Insane!

    Keep us posted.

At least it’s offered by public health system in UK.

Unless you have a really good supplementary health insurance or have access to a special semi-private clinic (e.g. university health services), it’s $140+ per hour.
