Who gives a damn if Sufjan Stevens is gay? part 2

So why do people care if Sufjan Stevens is gay? I thought about this for a while and realized that this is a really stupid question; when people wonder if someone’s gay, it’s always because that someone is:

  1. famous,
  2. a personal acquintance,
  3. a musician, or
  4. pretty.

Sufjan qualifies for criteria 1 (although barely), 3, and 4; so naturally, there has to be people out there wondering if he’s gay or not.

yep that’s exactly how i got here. the reason i want to know…hmm, it just popped into my head halfway through the john wayne gacy song…the tenderness he somehow imbued in his description of john wayne’s relationships, if you could call them that, with his boy victims. pretty amazing, and i figured a straight boy wouldn’t really have been able or interested in doing that.

Have been slowly slowly learning to love Sufjan Stevens latest album, and, nothing to do at work today, have been Googling the shit out of him. Googling always puts me in some weird stalking mode, and I got to thinking how he is IS kinda pretty, and hip, but geeky enough to satisfy my particular lusts. HOWever, after listening to an interview, I thought, He sounds kinda gay tho, which would ruin any fantasy potential he might have, so I Googled THAT too. And found your site. Which made me laugh out loud. Thanks! (ps: i am not gay. i am a heterosexual girl.)

  4. girl says:

yeah i love him too.. does anyone know if hes gay yet?

  5. Ralph says:

I assumed he was gay becuase of his musical asthetic – not just his lyrics. Then some girl with a crush was all mad that I said he was gay. so I thought “Maybe he ISN’T gay.” Just wanted to find out.

  6. Jim Walton says:

How could somebody sing and compose music this gay and not be gay? He’s gay ok. Case closed – jeez enough already you gay people.
